Method Homes Green Prefab Cabins Now Available In Colorado
Seattle, WA—December 10th, 2008—Method Homes, a Seattle manufacturer of architect-designed, sustainably built prefab housing, is pleased to announce that its green Method Cabins are now available in Colorado for summer 2009 delivery.
The Method Cabin series is currently available in three models from 1200 to 1800+ square feet, can be configured many different ways, and is completely customizable. Once all of the finishes and specifications are selected construction takes less than 2 months and a home can be completed in 3-4 months from the beginning of construction. This quick turnaround is possible because the cabins are built in a factory setting that minimizes waste and eliminates weather delays and travel time for workers and contractors.
Method Homes has done everything possible to insure that the construction process and their finished homes are sustainable. Method’s down-to-earth, contemporary design approach utilizes locally grown and produced building materials such as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified Douglas fir framing material, reclaimed fir trim and cedar siding, as well as energy- efficient lighting and plumbing fixtures, hydronic radiant heating, whole- house ventilation systems, solar options and enhanced insulation applications.
The cabin is the work of the highly respected Seattle architectural firm Balance Associates (www.balanceassociates.com) Balance Associates have established themselves as leaders in design of contemporary second homes, and Method is proud to bring their prefab model into the market.
This spring Method will launch its new line, the Balance S-M-L cabins, self contained modules that are delivered 95% complete and can be placed on or off the grid. The S-M-L series include options for solar, and solar hot water heat, and offer finishes and specifications from rustic to deluxe. Prices will start under one hundred thousand dollars. According to Balance Principal Tom Lenchek, “The concept behind the S-M-L cabins is to provide a series of small, smartly designed, prefabricated cabins that make it quick and affordable to create a personal retreat without sacrificing style. Intended as a modern refuge, they create a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces through the use of decks and large glazing sections and use sustainable and low maintenance materials and products throughout.”
