Denver Botanic Gardens

Denver’s premiere Usonian architect, Victor Hornbein with his partner Ed White, Jr., began to design the buildings of the Botanic Gardens in 1960. The first small building was completed in 1965 and Hornbein continued to design buildings for the facility until 1982. 

The most well known structure is the Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory (shown above), dedicated in 1966 and declared a Denver landmark merely 7 years later. Whether or not you are interested in the flora, this is a must see Denver treasure!

Recently, voters passed $18.6 million in bond funds for capital improvements to the Botanic Gardens. Here is a link to an outline of what they have planned:
