1700 Bassett St, #1401 – Glass House

Off the heels of my Glass House gallery, I found a unit for sale.

Amy Laborde, of Keller Williams Realty Downtown is listing this swank flat at 1700 Basset St, #1401. It’s got unbelievable city views from the inside the residence, and out on the balcony.

I’ve always been more of a house and yard type person, but between Commons Park, it’s proximity to Downtown, and the Riverfront development as a whole, I could really see myself living in this neighborhood. It’s hard to believe is was nothing more than a rail yard just a decade ago.

You can find more details on Amy’s web site.

Glass House Gallery

While I was taking pictures in Commons Park, much of my attention was drawn to the Glass House building. It’s really quite amazing so I thought I’d give it it’s own gallery.

When Glass House was first under construction, I thought it was weird that they were cladding the first few floors with bricks. It didn’t seem to match the rest of the building. Now, it’s obvious that the architects were envisioning how the building would interact with it’s neighbors. The brick masterfully integrates with the lower roof lines of the building surrounding it.

New Gallery – Commons Park

I imagine that living in Highlands and working Downtown would be in itself, a tremendous motivation to walk to work. My latest gallery is from some pics I took last November around Commons Park.

Jamie Kopke worked up a nice compilation of Denver design resources for Design*Sponge, a daily website dedicated to home and product design. Hat tip to Celeste at Riverfront for the post.
